We made it to Friday, Friends! Today is Charles Darwin’s birthday. Who knew he really was a fitness nut?
So this week I did pretty well with my food choices, cutting back/out on sugar, less meat, more veggies. I am strong enough to admit that yes, “My name is Dana and I am a sugar addict.” I read this week that sugar, not just the white or brown yumminess that you bake with or put in your tea, but all carbohydrates which convert to those sugars in your stomach, are 100 times more addicting than heroin or cocaine! 100 times, friends!!! I was blown away!! SO. . . with that in mind. . . I’m giving more thought to what goes in the old body. Food. . . or sugar. . . for thought.
Fitness Update
I upped the Fitbit steps to 4k this week and have hit my goal every day. However, funny enough, Jack and I were driving home from IU last night, at 11:44 he said, “Did you get your steps in?” I hadn’t looked so I checked. 3947!! Here we are driving home on I69, 19° outside and I said, “Pull over! I need to get those 53 steps in!” So he did. I got out and he followed me on the shoulder. And by God I did it!! 4k steps in! Here’s to 4500 steps each day next week!
I keep reminding myself that no matter how slow I go, I am still lapping the old me that was comfy on the couch. You can do it, too! Tell me how things are going with you.
