I don’t like to focus on bad days at work because it gives the power to the negative. There is always something good to focus on and be grateful for. After all, I work in a small public high school library, how bad can it be? But no job is perfect and stressful things happen in any job. Some weeks are harder to navigate. This was one of them for me. But each day is a new one and I received a jolt of blessing first thing yesterday morning. I had door duty and was greeting the students and staff as they walked by. One student quietly came up to me with a little calling card that said, “You have been caught committing a random act of kindness.” She softly said, “This is for you, Mrs. Fulton. I think you’re awesome!” I said thank you and the tears puddled. It drove home the point that love and kindness really matter, especially during tough weeks. You never know what someone has been going through and that smile, that warm greeting, that kind reply, really seeing the person you’re talking to, being present in the moment, all those little things matter. Lesson learned. Here’s hoping you had a good week and have a restful weekend. Please know that you are loved!
Sending love and light your way,
Dana
