What a whirlwind of a weekend I had! Saturday was busy. The biggest part of the day was spent helping our oldest child, Lucas and his sweet Courtney, move into their new home. Isn’t she adorable? That’s our first grandchild in there…a little boy! We are so happy for them! This will be where their story begins.
Then we went to see “The Giver.” I haven’t read the book but it’s a popular one in our library. I’d give it 3 out of 4 stars. It was thought provoking. Would we want to live in a world where there is no pain, no loss, no poverty or starvation, no hurt, no love, no emotion, no memories, no colors, no music, no dancing, with every moment of your life controlled by a group of elders, from your engineered birth to your end-of-life release to Elsewhere? No, of course not, but the people in this world knew no difference until the truth was revealed. Interesting discussion on the drive home.
After the matinee we had time to go to the Indiana University Men’s soccer game to hear Sam play with the Crabb Band. He’s the second one down from the top on the end playing the baritone. It was fun but so chilly we only stayed until half time. Fall is definitely in the air!
Sunday was spent working on the tearing down of a old house on our property. Just the two of us, one board at a time. Do we know how to have fun or what?!
Here’s wishing you a wonderful week!
Sending love and light your way,
Dana
