Happy Monday, friends!
I hope your weekend was all you hoped it would be. Mine was lovely. Friday night we had errands to run and chose to go to Evansville. We picked up Lance and he treated us to the final installment of Mockingjay. It was good, if not a bit sad, dark and depressing. I was hoping for a more triumphant conclusion but Jack, who has read the whole Hunger Games series, said it adhered to the book and he was pleased with the outcome.
I thought Bang Bang shrimp tacos sounded good so the three of us went to Bonefish Grill. It was yummy as always! The guys each had something different. We ended the meal with Crème Brûlée with three spoons. Lance had never had it and I had him break the sugary top and have the first bite. It was perfection! It was a rare and lovely outing with our busy soon-to-be college graduate. My cup was overflowing with joy!
Saturday was lazy as I’m still consuming The Gilmore Girls. Netflix makes it so easy to binge-watch, don’t they? The episodes just flow into the next and before you know it you’ve watched hours of shows and still want more! Yes, friends, my name is Dana and I’m an addict.
Sam found himself unusually free on a Saturday night so he came home, primarily to do laundry but also because he was hungry for Mi Pueblo, one of his favorite Mexican restaurants. He started his laundry and the three of us loaded up and headed to Washington. It’s always fun to eat there and reconnect. A trip to Walmart (yippee!) rounded out the night. Do we know how to live it up or what?
Sam left around 10:00 am on Sunday. Cold weather hit us in the face but we were lucky compared to many others nearby who got their first layer of snow. Jack puttered and I Gilmored a few more episodes then we worked on a wiring project for the downstairs bathroom. For those of you who own old houses you know the frustration that comes with replacing, adding and updating old wiring. It’s an on-going project as we forge forward.
All-in-all, it was a good weekend. Here’s wishing you a great week filled with love, joy and gratitude.
Sending love and light your way,
Dana
