I Have A Dream

Spread the love

Welcome, friends!

Jack has gotten my computer fixed (fingers crossed!) and I’m back in the saddle again!

Today I’m thinking of challenges and the roadblocks that pop-up to try to thwart the realization of my dreams coming true.  I tinkered with the idea of writing down my thoughts and sharing it with the blogosphere almost 6 years ago.  I dabbled a little but was so busy and unsure of myself and my vision that I put it on hold.  You see, I have this dream of finding a way to be creative, a way to eventually make money, and to do it in a portable fashion so no matter where I go my work can go with me.  A year ago I put more thought into it and sought professional guidance which fueled my fire even more.  Jack and I set the plan in motion and here I am.

For the most part blogging can be a lonely affair.  It can be discouraging when I get little to no response from anyone beyond my computer screen.  I am grateful for the faithful few who follow me and appreciate what I have to say.  But this is a marathon, not a sprint, and I’m the tortoise, not the hare.

I have a dream MLK

Today we honor the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  My little struggles are nothing compared to the roadblocks that challenged him and those who fought the fight for Civil Rights.  I remember vividly hearing  Dr. King’s “I have a dream” speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial on the Washington DC Mall.  I was sitting on the floor watching it on TV as a girl. His oratory skills were second to none.  His words of encouragement, challenge, and the hope of peace and racial harmony to all people made a huge impression on me and they still ring true today.

Thank you, Dr. King.  I have a dream.

Until next time…you are loved!
Dana

Thank you for acknowledging  Martin Luther King’s accomplishments.  I always thought he was a visionary because he could see things that others couldn’t or didn’t want to see.  I thought he was an incredibly brave person who  faced adversity with grace.

So glad you are blogging again because it gives me a bit of a visit with you.  Thinking of you on this cold, wintry day.
